BAS controls wiring services
A building automation system (BAS) depends on coordinated field connections as well as its software. TACS focuses on the physical installation: cable routes, panels, device wiring, identification and agreed checkout assistance. Your controls provider retains responsibility for design, programming and system operation.
Building automation wiring
Install control cable along the routes identified in the project documents. Share cable specifications, equipment locations and pathway requirements. We review access, supports and termination responsibilities before pricing, rather than treating every controls installation as the same cable-pulling job.
DDC controls wiring
Field wiring to direct digital control (DDC) panels and assigned terminal points. Coordinate enclosure locations, cable entry, point identification and power interfaces with the controls contractor. Panel fabrication, controller selection and software setup are not assumed to be part of a field-wiring package.
Sensor and actuator wiring
Wiring and assigned installation support for the sensors, actuators and field devices specified by your controls provider. Confirm mounting responsibilities, access and device identifiers. Device selection, final setup and changes to equipment operation remain with the appropriately responsible project specialists.
BACnet cabling infrastructure
Install the specified communication cabling and pathways for the controls network. Follow the integrator’s approved routing and connection requirements. Network design, controller addressing, gateway setup and interoperability verification are separate responsibilities; the cable installation alone does not establish a working integration.
HVAC controls wiring
Support the control-wiring scope associated with air-handling units, rooftop equipment, terminal units and other specified building equipment. Coordinate the electrical and mechanical interfaces before work begins. This service is controls infrastructure support, not mechanical repair, refrigerant service or equipment replacement.
Point-to-point checkout support
Assist the responsible controls team with the assigned wiring checks, identification and punch-list work. Agree on test responsibilities and records before pricing. Startup assistance is not independent commissioning, balancing, sequence validation or a guarantee of building-system performance.
Need general network cabling or door-system infrastructure as well? See our commercial structured cabling and access-control wiring pages. Identify each required installation scope in your inquiry.
Define the scope before the first cable pull
Controls installation without the scope gaps.
A device count is only part of a controls estimate. Equipment access, panel locations, cable routes and the condition of existing wiring all matter. TACS reviews the field package with your project team so the installation and handover requirements are understood before work is scheduled.
- New construction and equipment additions Provide the current controls drawings, point list, equipment schedule and construction dates. Identify who supplies devices, constructs pathways, provides power and makes the final equipment connections.
- Retrofits and occupied buildings Identify the systems that must remain operational, available drawings and approved access windows. Any disconnect, changeover or temporary operating arrangement must be planned with the responsible controls and facility teams.
- Integrator-led checkout and closeout Agree on point naming, cable labels, checks and marked-up installation records. Name the provider responsible for software, graphics, sequences and final operational acceptance so field completion and system completion are not confused.
Our focus is the field installation. Controls engineering, programming, graphics, sequence development, testing-adjusting-balancing and independent commissioning are not services offered by this page. Do not include them in a TACS wiring package unless a separate qualified delivery arrangement has been expressly confirmed.
From controls drawings to field handover
A coordinated BAS installation process
Use a clear proposal to connect the drawings, field work and receiving controls team. These steps help establish what will be installed, what needs a specialist and what records the project requires at handover.
-
01 / REVIEW
Share the controls package
Send the plans, point list, equipment schedule and project dates. Include site restrictions and identify the controls provider responsible for design and programming.
-
02 / DEFINE
Agree on the field scope
Confirm pathways, cable quantities, material supply, device mounting and termination responsibilities. Establish testing, change-management and closeout expectations.
-
03 / COORDINATE
Install with the project team
Schedule approved access and coordinate assigned work with electrical, mechanical and controls providers. Raise changed conditions for review instead of altering system design in the field.
-
04 / HAND OVER
Support checkout and closeout
Complete the agreed wiring checks, punch-list items and installation records. The designated integrator or commissioning provider manages system verification and acceptance.

BAS controls wiring in Dallas–Fort Worth
TACS reviews controls-wiring projects in Dallas, Fort Worth, McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen and nearby communities. Send the exact location and timeline to confirm travel requirements, crew availability and the proposed scope. These are service areas, not separate branch-office locations.
What is included in BAS controls wiring?
BAS controls wiring is the field-cabling scope connecting designated controls equipment, panels and devices. TACS proposals identify routes, terminations, device-installation responsibilities, labeling and agreed checkout assistance. The accepted scope determines deliverables; software, sequences and final system acceptance are not automatically included with the wiring.
What is the difference between wiring and BAS programming?
Wiring provides the assigned physical connections. Programming establishes the controller logic and software behavior. TACS focuses on building automation wiring and installation support; controller programming, graphics, sequences and software integration remain with the responsible controls provider. Identify that provider when requesting a quote.
Can you work with our existing controls integrator?
Yes. Share the approved installation package, equipment information and integrator contact. We review how our field scope fits the project and clarify material, power, network and testing responsibilities. Support for a project does not imply manufacturer authorization or a promise to configure every platform.
Does BACnet cabling include network setup or device integration?
Not by itself. The integrator must specify the communication requirements and assign network configuration, addressing and interoperability checks. TACS can review the physical cabling and pathway work in that package. Do not assume a successful cable installation guarantees that connected devices will exchange data or operate as intended.
Can you support an occupied-building controls retrofit?
We review retrofit and replacement-wiring packages as well as new construction. Explain what must stay operational, what can be accessed and which work windows are approved. Any system shutdown or changeover needs coordination with the facility and controls team. Uninterrupted operation is not assumed or guaranteed.
What affects a controls-wiring quote?
Point and device quantities, routes, panel locations, equipment access, material supply and work windows affect the installation scope. So do required tests and closeout records. Submit current drawings and specifications rather than relying on a generic per-point price that may omit important field work.
Does this include HVAC repair, balancing or independent commissioning?
No. HVAC controls wiring on this page is installation support, not mechanical repair, refrigerant work, air or water balancing, or independent commissioning. Assigned point-to-point checks and startup assistance are performed in coordination with the responsible controls team and do not replace specialist verification.
